Our smartphones contain much more technology than we can count, including various wireless communication tools. So how does the NFC sensor, which many of us frequently use, work? And where can you find the NFC on your phone?
What is NFC? How does the NFC sensor work?
NFC stands for Near Field Communication. It is a highly popular wireless connection technology that ensures secure communication but can only be used over very short distances. It enables two devices to connect, exchange information, and activate various commands through a short-range connection method.
During usage, communication is bidirectional. Its primary purpose is to establish low-contact or contactless connections between devices. Moreover, it works completely automatically without the need for entering any PIN or password. In fact, data can be transferred between devices simply by touching or being in very close proximity to each other.
Where is the NFC on your phone?
If your smartphone has an NFC sensor, it is most likely located on the back of the device, near the top left corner. However, due to design differences, we can also find it in the middle top or top right sections of the back on some models.
Of course, if you have activated the NFC sensor from the device settings, just like Bluetooth, all you need to do when making a payment or transferring data is to bring the upper back part of the phone close enough to the relevant area by touching it.
